ABOUT CORPORATE CSR

The probably most trendy business term, CORPORATE CSR, a major factor to the progression and well-being of our world. On one hand, experts state that the world’s leading corporation stand behind 70% of carbon pollutions. In contrast, the corporations respond by stating objectives and mission statements which demonstrate their (corporate CSR(corporate social responsibility)) along with other ethical tools to influence a positive impact.

Introducing the writer

CORPORATE CSR will be explained in this first post. But first, I want to introduce my self and my passion for writing and analyzing corporate CSR.

I am a fairly young, but highly experienced man, who have lived and worked among several influential "CSR" corporations throughout Asia. My biggest focus has been on Corporate CSR and management tactics and models. In my role, I have had a deep inside view in corporate CSR organizations varying from the world’s biggest hotel chains to China-located chemical factories. These may seem as major contrasts, but they do not vary much in terms of corporate CSR ethics, either on an individual or at a corporate scale.

Readers Recommendations

My readers are presumably stereotyping corporations that do not work alongside corporate CSR values to be of a specific type. Let me build up this picture for you. Big factories, most likely located in third world countries, paying almost no wages, used by MNCs (Multi National Corporations) to raise domestic profits. Moreover, these none-corporate CSR-active "factories" also dispose of large amounts of pollution.

No matter what you are stereotyping, it is never right to see at a thing from one perspective, your assumption will always be biased and nonobjective. I have met a range of people, both throughout and outside the corporate CSR world of business. The only explanation behind such a large amount of people that believe unethical corporate csr practices to my previous description is mass marketing and professional deflection.

CSR through my global experiences

In fact, the truth is that all large MNS corporations are involved with corporate CSR, whether they like it or not. This is because of the magnitude surrounding their mass-producing-operations which multiplies each small decision into a huge impact, always! But there are even more points that should be included in the explanation to why corporate CSR is as popular as it is.

For years I can assure you that major corporations know what they are doing and what impact their operations bring around their surroundings. However, the later generations, (GEN X & Y), are more ethically aware, and want to- and enjoy- using media to collect information. This makes a perfect target market for the new trendy corporate CSR world.

Therefore, although corporations now scream "corporate CSR" in their marketing campaigns, it has not arrived from a moral aspect, however more likely from a competitive marketing aspect.

Is this good or bad? Well morally, todays corporate csr was initiated as a profit magnet, which has now turned into the perhaps strongest competitive tool as GNP (Gross National Product) throughout the world are increasing, with a globally booming mid-class. However, to be out of this trend, and being unable to compete at a full almost requires you to engage in corporate CSR activities to win the confidence of the increasingly aware target markets.

So what are we actually witnessing these last years around the world of corporate CSR? Actually, many of the low-cost orientated businesses, which actually are over 50% of all organizations, find low-cost measures to influence people into thinking that they are corporate CSR responsible. Never forget that MNC are always several steps ahead of the broad markets. However occasionally, we hear of a giant oil leak, or any other form of social disaster, that a corporation has been blamed for. Even volunteering organizations such as the Red Cross are making misses around corporate CSR practices.

But going back to the point, that we tend to stereotype specific operations for not being active with corporate csr. We actually can start understanding that all organizations engage in corporate CSR, while at the same time they do not. "Unfortunately" for a few "corporate CSR businesses" their locus on actually putting a maximal focus on their corporate csr activities, makes them lose face for several years, and decades to come. A good example is Nestle and their breast milk replacement products in Africa during the 90s. this was a product that was to boost vital minerals and vitamins of infants, however ended in tragedy and "corporate csr Nestle" was responsible for the deaths of hundreds, perhaps thousands.

Nowadays, people cannot even trust the Red Cross with their donations as occasional executives have been caught for theft. You think that is it, what about the ones that have not been caught? In corporate CSR operations, effective work means cost, teamwork, and actual moral care. Altogether, I personally like Corporate CSR, It is however today a colossal upside of unethical responsibility that requires progression to fulfill its purpose. There is a lot more to mention, such as models, News, you name it, around Corporate CSR. Therefore, from my experiences and my perspective, I want to share what I have learned and viewed from corporate CSR in upcoming posts.

Thank you!
